After supply is depleted, a modification can allow continued service which involves a retro kit that replaces the following:
- The powerhead which consists of the motor, gearbox, and drum/brake assembly
- The controller
- The cartop box
- The tape reader
- The steel tape
- The interlocks
- The UPS Backup
- Additional small parts
There are multiple benefits to performing a modification of these old units. Primarily, there is a manufacturer's warranty on these components. Additionally, this retro kit can be obtained within 20 business days from the date of order. Finally, the replacement powerhead will include a new overspeed device improving the slow down and acceleration of the elevator.
